SMARTPHONES AND PAPER PENCILTo help our families that may be only using a Smartphone for eLearning OR missed the weekly pick up for lessons, I created a Google Site to house all of this information. You can click on the image to the right and access our weekly eLearning plans and paper pencil packets.

LESSON ORGANIZATION AND COMMUNICATION
I am considered the gate-keeper for all elearning lessons. They are housed in my Google Drive. I created a SHARED DRIVE folder and gave all teachers in elementary access to the document you see below (by grade level). In our district we use COMMON elearning lessons instead of every teacher creating their own. WHY?? because we are not 1:1 in our elementary schools. Parents may be using an iPad, laptop, PC or even smartphone to do lessons. This commonality has proven very effective for our teachers and community.

The amount of collaboration to pull this off is immense and I am coordinating with many departments so communication is key. How do I communicate with my teachers and leaders district wide?
Video and email have been my saving grace. Below this segment I will have a snapshot of the communication I sent out last night in preparation for the short time they were allowed to get into buildings to print and gather materials. (parents were allowed to come in and get paper/pencil items from 3-6 today). Here is the communication I sent out to staff at 11:00 p.m. the day before they could enter the buildings.

READINGWhat does it look like to do components of Guided Reading online? Below is a sample of what that looks like for our district during this crisis. We took each of the modules in Jan Richardson's Guided Reading book and developed templates for them. Now if we need to progress further with additional lessons, we have a bank of resources at our fingertips. This was a collaborative effort between the District Technology Integration Specialist, Instructional Coaches and Administrative Interns.

MATHMaking your Math Curriculum easily accessible for all regardless of device.
Divide and conquer. Since we are following pacing guides in our district, it was easier to have a team of teachers record the math lessons via video to continue instruction. This also allows a way to streamline the process. For additional support, the videos were posted to our district website so that it can be easily located for parents who only have smartphone as a device at home. |
SCIENCE/HISTORY
In our district we utilize hyperdocs a lot for our instruction in these areas. Below are a couple of examples. If you are interested is using hyperdocs during this time, here is a link to over 50 that I have created and can used in the classroom. I also encourage you to go out to hyperdocs.co for more information.
